1. Accommodations letters must be requested from the DRC at the beginning of each semester. This can be done online by going to the DRC website www.dso.ufl.edu/drc and click on Current UF Students and follow the link to Accommodation Letter Request form, Online. Complete the form as instructed and click on submit. Pick-up your letters after 24 working hours and hand deliver to your instructor during office hours. You must verbally let each instructor know which accommodations will be needed for that particular class. Otherwise you stand that chance of not having the needed accommodations properly administered.

2. Testing accommodations must be made in person with each instructor. If the instructor can provide your testing accommodations to your satisfaction then, you will not need to submit an Accommodated Test Request (ATR) form to our testing office. If however, the instructor can not provide the necessary testing accommodations both you and the instructor must complete an ATR. It is your responsibility to insure that the ATR has been delivered to the DRC Testing Service within 4 working days of your first scheduled test. If you require a scribe, reader, or PC please notify our testing coordinators.

3. Notetaker accommodations must be made in person with each instructor. You should provide the instructor with a Notetaker Packet at the same time you make the request. Make sure to complete your section on page 5 of the packet before giving it to the instructor. Once the instructor designates a notetaker for your class, the notetaker is required to return pages 5 & 6 of the Notetaker Packet to the DRC. If you experience any problems with the notetaker, please report these problems directly to the instructor.

4. Frequently used forms (e.g. ATR and NT Packet) are available online from our website. The URL is www.dso.ufl.edu/drc/ then click on Current UF Students then click on Online Services and Frequently Used Forms.

5. Tutoring services are available at the Academic Teaching Center at Broward Hall. The subjects available for tutoring and the schedule can be found by visiting their website at http://www.teachingcenter.ufl.edu . There is tutoring for math, statistics, chemistry, physics, circuits, and economics. There are also Study Skills assessments designed to help you improve your study skills. In addition, there is the Reading and Writing Center where you can sharpen your reading and writing skills. The UF Mathematics, Chemistry, and Statistics Departments publish paid tutor lists for those that are interested (contact the respective department or visit their website).

6. UF Critical Dates can be found on the UF Registrar website or go to http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/catalog/adfall0607.html. The deadline to drop/add classes by college petition is November 20, 2006. The deadline to withdrawal from all classes is also November 20th. Remember that if you drop or withdrawal from a course in which you have scheduled tests with the DRC Testing Service or classes where you have a Notetaker, please notify the DRC.

7. Students can Get Involved by contacting the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) at the Reitz Union. The CSI is the “hub” for student involvement on campus. The CSI can guide your involvement on everything from student organizations, recreational sports, study abroad services, student government, community services, campus events, and more. You can contact the CSI by calling 392-1671 or visit their website at www.union.ufl.edu/involvement . You can even track your involvement in activities through the Involvement Portfolio.

8. A UF paid research study is presently ongoing at the Communication Disorder Department at Dauer Hall. They are recruiting students that have reading disorders or dyslexia. This is a paid study where you can earn $35 if selected. Contact Becky at wisehart@ufl.edu or Susan Ann at saeidson@ufl.edu if you are interested.
