Multicultural and Diversity Affairs seeks to promote awareness, understanding of differences, collaboration of cross-cultural groups, and to foster a sense of communal relationships among all students. They also assist students in their personal development by providing programs and initiatives that educate, motivate, and challenge them as members of University of Florida.

The Anthropology Department and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences have established a concentration in American Indian and Indigenous Studies (IDS-AIIS) within the Interdisciplinary Studies major. This AIIS concentration is an extension of the minor for students who have interest in American Indian topics and would like to take their studies further with writing a senior thesis.
