Becoming a Mentor

Becoming a Mentor

Each mentor has to go through an application process from which an appropriate mentee of similar interests will be chosen. Towards the beginning of the semester, mentors and mentees meet at a kick-off event. Then, mentors are to meet with their mentees twice per month. One meeting will be a one-on-one session between the mentor and mentee, and the other will be a Peer-to-Peer group activity. There are also mandatory mentors-only meetings with the Program Coordinator each month.

As a mentor, your job is to guide your mentee and assist him or her in adjusting to the university. You will be given a list of on-campus resources and different tips at the mentors-only meetings.

The application period is now close. It opens at the very beginning of the fall semester and ends shortly after.
