LGBT Affairs, in the Dean of Students Office, provides education, advocacy, and support to students, staff, and faculty across campus, serves as a clearinghouse for activities related to gender and sexuality; and houses the FRIENDS ally program; Out and About, a group for graduate students and new (or new-ish) professionals; Alphabet Soup; Subtext, the queer arts magazine, and much more.
LGBT Concerns Committee, through the Office of the Provost, works to continually assess our campus climate and recommend improvements.
LGBT Empowerment Group, run through the Counseling Center, focuses on the journey of being LGBT in college and integrating an LGBT identity with other areas of life. Contact the Counseling Center at (352) 392-1575
LGBTQ Student Affairs Cabinet, part of Student Government Executive Board, works to promote equality through education and advocacy.
Outlaw provides LGBTQ individuals at the Levin College of Law a means of collectively expressing and discussing their views and promotes economic, political and social justice and solidarity for LGBTQ people.
Pride Student Union, UF’s largest LGBTQ student organization, coordinates Outspoken Speakers Bureau, the Intercollegiate Pride Conference, and Pride Awareness Month (April).
Queer Theory Reading Group meets to discuss the writings of a variety of authors. Topics range from foundational theory to queer anthropology.
Theories and Politics of Sexuality (TAPS), both an undergraduate concentration and minor, is housed in the Center for Women’s Studies and Gender Research.
