Services & Advocacy
- DIVERSITY WEB:The University of Florida is committed to promoting diversity by building an inclusive environment which values individual differences and supports the personal and academic growth of all students. A new website has been created that outlines various programs, resources, and services designed to outreach to minority and underrepresented students at the UF campus, educate all students about the value of diversity, and provide resources to faculty and staff.
- LGBT Affairs- LGBT Affairs is an area in the Dean of Students Office dedicated to meeting the needs of LGBTQ students, faculty, and staff. LGBT Affairs is responsible for providing advocacy and support for the LGBTQ community at the university as well as education on LGBTQ issues. - LGBT Concerns Committee- The LGBT Concerns Committee is a Provost sponsored committee that has been set up to investigate the concerns and issues affecting the LGBTQ community at the University of Florida and take action to resolve those concerns. The LGBT Concerns Committee focuses its efforts on those concerns that negatively affect the entire LGBTQ community.
- LGBT Resource Center-A collection of books and films are located in the LGBT Affairs Office, 202 Peabody Hall. Book and film titles are online.
- Employee Assistance Program for Faculty/Staff (Infirmary Bldg, 242)- Ph: 392-5787; The purpose of the EAP is to promote, maintain, and support a positive and productive workplace. The EAP provides a wide range of services including individual employee evaluation and referral, consultation services for supervisors, workshops and training sessions, and support groups.

- University Police Department (Blgb51, Musuem Rd.)-Provide campus security and protection as well as useful safety tips and victim services. For more information, call 392-1111.
Groups
- Pride Student Union- The Pride Student Union (PSU) is a student run organization that provides a safe and accepting space for LGBTQ students to come together to discuss issues and to socialize with other LGBTQ students. PSU provides active programming to educate the campus and greater community on LGBTQ issues.
- Gator Gay-Straight Alliance- The Gator Gay-Straight Alliance (GGSA) is a group of LGBTQ and straight allies that put on programming and events to raise awareness concerning LGBTQ issues and to eradicate homophobia from the University of Florida Campus.
- OUTlaw- Provides lesbians, gays, bisexuals and supporters at the College of Law a means of collectively expressing and discussing their views and a means to promote economic, political and social justice and solidarity for lesbians, gays and bisexuals.
- Graduate Student Council- The UF Graduate Student Council (GSC) serves as a liaison between University of Florida graduate students, the UF administration and UF Student Government. It is a voice for graduate student needs, concerns and ideas.
- Rainbow Alliance- The Rainbow Alliance (RA) is an organization of faculty and staff that works to improve the LGBT environment at the University of Florida. RA holds monthly dinners, produces an e- newsletter and recognizes the contributions of students through Research and Service Awards. RA manages the Rainbow Alliance Fund which can be contributed to through donations or paycheck deductions. RA is also currently home to the LGBT alumni club.
- Campus NOW- Student chapter of NOW organizes against rape on campus, for reproductive rights for students, against the UF beauty pageant, for a women's student center on campus, and much else. For more information, call 332-8692.
Academic
- Center for Women's Studies and Gender Research - for more information about the Bachelor of Arts in Women's Studies program (including the concentration in Theories and Politics of Sexuality), as well as the Theories and Politics of Sexuality (TAPS) minor.
- UF Library’s Resources- UF Library's Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Resources.
- Queer Theory Reading Group- A group that meets to discuss the writings of a variety of authors. Topics range from foundational theory to queer anthropology.
- Feminist Reading Group- A group of graduate students who meet to discuss readings connected in various ways to issues of feminist theories.

- GLBT Life Database now available through UF Library.
As mentioned in the Rainbow Alliance newsletter:
"GLBT Life is the premier resource to the world's literature regarding Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender issues. This database contains indexing and abstracts for more than 80 GLBT-specific core periodicals. The product also contains data mined from over 40 priority periodicals as well as data mined from over 1,200 select titles. GLBT Life was created with the assistance of the ONE Institute & Archives, which holds a very significant collection of archival and present content in the area of GLBT studies. GLBT Life provides comprehensive coverage of traditional academic, cultural, lifestyle, and regional publications, including The Advocate, Lesbian News, Washington Blade, Bay Area Reporter, etc. GLBT Life also indexes & abstracts the full run of many historically significant titles such as ONE, The Ladder, Mattachine Review, Christopher Street and Body Politic. In addition, grey literature including non-fiction titles, bibliographies, case studies, and speeches is also represented. Disciplines covered by GLBT Life include civil liberties, culture, employment, family, history, politics, psychology, religion, sociology and more."

Health
- University Counseling Center- Individual counseling and LGBT empowerment group. All interactions are confidential. The Counseling Center is located in 301 Peabody Hall. Questions and concerns can be emailed to LGBT@counsel.ufl.edu or via phone: 392-1575.
- Student Health Care Center- For names of specific staff with LGBTQ experience, please contact LGBT Affairs. If you need to reach the Student Health Care Center directly, call 392-1161.
- Student Mental Health (Infirmary Bldg)-Provides individual, couple, and group support in situational crises, and treating them when functioning is impaired by stress or psychiatric disorders. Psychiatric consultations also available. All interactions are confidential. For more information, call 392-1171.
- Center for Sexual Assault/Abuse Recovery and Education (Infirmary Bldg, 230)Counseling for female and male students who have experienced sexual assault. Confidential and free. Also for partners, family, and friends of victim. For more information, call 392-1161 x231.
