First Year Experience
You're finally here at UF, now what are you going to do?
Your first year experience can be filled with many new and exciting experiences. The administration and staff at the University recognize this exciting time, and provide many resources to assist new students with their transition.
We encourage you in New Student Programs to take advantage of the resources
out of our office available to new students including our first year experience
course, First Year Florida. We also suggest checking out some of the leadership
opportunities available to you not only in our office but all around the University
of Florida campus.
Quest: Join us for a Quest trip! Whether it's backpacking,
white water rafting or a leadership emersion experience, Quest trips empower
incoming students to develop relationships with fellow students and faculty
to provide unmatched personal and social experience that will help with the
transition to the University of Florida. Space is limited (10 students max.

First-Year Florida (FYF): Jump start your Gator experience
and register at preview for SLS 1102: First-Year Florida, UF's first-year
extended orientation course. Designed to help you feel more comfortable at
the University of Florida each section of this course is limited to 25 students
and co-taught by a UF faculty or staff member and an undergraduate peer leader.

Navigating the Swamp (NTS): Created to formally re-connect you with your college and help you hit the ground running, all first-year students are required to attend this event on August 22, 2008. A formal invitation will be sent to you from your college later this summer. The day will include a College Meeting, Common Reading Program Book Discussion, and Interest Sessions such as getting involved , how to succeed in math courses, finding a job on campus, etc. Visit www.dso.ufl.edu/nsp/nts for more information.
Weeks of Welcome (WOW): Get excited! Get informed! Get involved! WOW is a campus-wide series of events designed to welcome new first-year and transfer students to UF.
