New Student Programs

Become a Preview Staffer

Selection to the Preview Staff is both a unique honor and rewarding opportunity for personal and professional growth. Staff members fulfill the mission of New Student Programs through their strong commitment to aid students and families in their transition to the University of Florida. Preview Staff members serve as peer advisors and resources, as well as role models, for Preview and Transfer Preview participants. Through all training opportunities, Preview Staff are responsible for a specific body of knowledge about the university and must be sincerely interested and skillful in sharing this knowledge with orientation participants.

“Serving on Preview staff gave me the opportunity to meet thousands of new students and their families from many diverse backgrounds and cultures. I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the university while assisting incoming freshmen and transfer students with their transition to UF. My experiences working with my staff taught me priceless lessons of teamwork, respect, and hard work. For me, working with Preview has been one of my most memorable and invaluable college experiences.” Ashleigh, Panama City, FL

“Being a Preview Staffer truly rounded out my experiences at the University of Florida. It allowed me to further explore student leadership while becoming involved in the core of the University itself. I learned both the unique opportunities and challenges that both the students and institution face with the new incoming student population; and it instilled in me the knowledge that working with students is my passion.” Dustin, Titusville, FL

“Being a member of the 2004 Preview Staff was one of the greatest privileges I have had at UF. I loved welcoming our newest Gators and their families to the GREATEST academic institution in the southeast. You get to be the liaison between all that Florida has to offer and its freshmen students. As a Preview Staffer, I was able to serve the university in a way that effectively utilized my gifts and abilities.” Miriam, Lakeland, FL
