Reservation and Registration Process
The online reservation system will go live on Friday, September 4. Date is subject to change. Changes will be posted on this website, if applicable. Students and family members who registered to attend Preview in the summer of 2009 will be sent an email invitation for Family Weekend. Emails will go out to the student's email address and the family member's email address, if provided in the Preview reservation.

In order to make a reservation, the UF student will need to login to the Family Weekend reservation system using his/her Gatorlink username and password. Please read all of the information on this page prior to making a reservation for Family Weekend. The link to the online system will be found at the bottom of this page.

Reservation and Registration Deadline
Reservations for Family Weekend will be accepted via the on-line system until Friday, September 25, or until the event is sold out, whichever comes first. Space is limited, and reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Families with reservations that are paid in full are considered officially registered for the event. Reservations not paid in full by Friday, September 25 will be cancelled.

Confirmations
After you make and pay for your reservation online you will see a confirmation page for your registration. An email confirmation will also be sent, indicating receipt of your payment and that the family is officially registered for Family Weekend. Again, only families with reservations that are paid in full are considered officially registered for the event. In addition to the electronic Registration Confirmation of receipt of payment, in late September you will receive a Final Event Details email with information about check-in, parking, and an updated schedule of events. If you do not receive the Final Event Details email five working days prior to Family Weekend or if you lose this email, contact pguest@dso.ufl.edu to request that another be sent. Be sure to provide your student's name and UFID in your email.

Registration Fees
Family Weekend is a self-funded event. Your registration fees cover the cost of overhead expenses, including publications, registration materials, room and equipment rentals, select meals (regardless of whether or not you choose to attend the meal(s)), and the non-ticketed events and activities offered during the weekend. Event fees are kept to a minimum; the weekend is designed to cover its costs. In an effort to keep costs to a minimum for family members, we have added several options that allow families the flexibility to choose which events they would like to register for. All Family Weekend guests, including the student, must register for the Family Weekend Basic Package. Once registered for the Basic Family Weekend Package, guests and students may choose to register for additional events.

The cost of the Family Weekend Basic Package is $18 per person. Please note that each guest must register for the Family Weekend Basic Package to be able to register for the additional Family Weekend programs. Students are considered guests and must also be included in your registration. Children under the age of 5 are free.

Tickets for the Friday Family Fun Night and Dessert Reception, featuring renowned hypnotist Chuck Miligan, are an additional $11 per person and must be purchased when the reservation is made. Please note that space is limited for this event.

Tickets for the Saturday BBQ are an additional $10 per person and must be purchased when the reservation is made. The menu includes: pulled BBQ beef, BBQ chicken, BBQ veggie burgers, select beverages, and other traditional BBQ sides. If you have special dietary needs, please contact pguest@dso.ufl.edu once you have made your reservation so that we can make any necessary accommodations.

Cancellations and Reservation/Registration Changes
Be sure to confer as a family about potential scheduling conflicts prior to making a reservation for Family Weekend. Conflicts may include evening classes, mid-term exams, or other events that may bring a family to Gainesville on a different weekend.

If you wish to cancel your entire Family Weekend reservation/registration, please contact us in writing as soon as you are able. We will only be able to refund registration fees for cancellations received by 5pm EST on Friday, September 11. Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to pguest@dso.ufl.edu and include the following: UF student's name and UFID and the reason for cancellation. Refunds will be processed 2-3 weeks after the request is received. Once a reservation/registration is cancelled New Student Programs cannot guarantee it can be reinstated. Requests for refunds received after 5pm EST on Friday September 11 will not be processed. Cancellation requests cannot be made by phone.

If you wish to remove guests from the reservation/registration, you can do so via email at pguest@dso.ufl.edu or by phone at (352) 392- 392-8396. You will need to provide the UF student's name and UFID, and the name(s) of the guest(s) to remove. Only guests removed by 5pm EST on Friday, September 11 are eligible for a refund of fees. Guests removed after this date are not eligible for a refund of fees but please, as a courtesy, be sure to inform New Student Programs of any guests no longer attending.

If you wish to add guests to the reservation/registration, you can you can do so via email at pguest@dso.ufl.edu or by phone at (352) 392- 392-8396. You will need to provide the UF student's name and UFID, and the name(s) of the guest(s) to add. The deadline to add guests is Friday, September 25.

Please note: Cancellations for tickets purchased directly through ticket vendors or individual organizations cannot be refunded by New Student Programs.
