What is Weeks of Welcome (WOW!)?

WOW! is a campus-wide series of events designed to welcome both new first-year, transfer and graduate students to UF, as well as to welcome back returning students. Offices, departments, and organizations across campus submit events to the WOW! calendar. The calendar of events spans the first few weeks of the Summer B, Fall, & Spring semesters. It provides a variety of options for new students from which they may choose. Programs of personal interest; skills and involvement; social events; and activities planned by academic units, student service departments and student organizations are represented during WOW!

Goals of Weeks of Welcome (WOW!):

• To develop some campus wide events specific to first-year and transfer students aimed at helping new students make the transition from high school or community college to the University of Florida
• To provide new students with resources and campus information that was not provided and/or retained at Preview or Transfer Orientation
• To help foster a sense of pride about being a Florida Gator
• To teach new students about the history and traditions of the University of Florida
• To inform new students about their rights and responsibilities as members of our community
