Hearing Officers and Committees

Staff members in Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution have the ability to do administrative reviews and administrative hearings. In addition to the staff in Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution, the following committees also hear cases:

Student Conduct Committee

Made up of faculty, staff and students from all over campus, this group hears all types of cases of alleged violations of the student honor code and student conduct code. Students apply and are interviewed and selected by staff in Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution and Student Government. Faculty members are nominated by the Faculty Senate committee on committees or can nominate themselves through the committee process. Most hearings will involve 7 - 8 conduct committee members. Hearings are chaired by an experienced member of the committee. The committee will hear all evidence, ask questions and make a recommendation on whether or not the student violated the student conduct code and if so, recommend appropriate sanctions to the Dean of Students.

Student Health Sciences Conduct Committee

Made up of faculty, staff and students from the health sciences, this group hears alleged violations of the honor code and HIPPA. Students are nominated by faculty and staff in the health sciences or they can apply by contacting Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution. Faculty members are nominated the same way as the Student Conduct Committee. Most hearings will involve 7 - 8 conduct committee members. Hearings are chaired by an experienced member of the committee. The committee will hear all evidence, ask questions and make a recommendation on whether or not the student violated the student conduct code and if so, recommend appropriate sanctions to the Dean of Students.

Law School Honor Committee

The Honor Committee is composed of law students, two faculty advisors, the Levin College of Law Dean of Students, a faculty member from outside the College of law and a representative of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution. The law students on the Honor Committee are elected by the Levin College of Law student body.
