Description:

The Ann Q. Lynch award was created by the Division of Student Affairs as a recognition to Dr. Lynch, a former staff member at the Student Infirmary. Dr. Lynch’s contributions were numerous, and she gave unselfishly of her time, talent, and energy.

This award was created as a “thank you” to her and is awarded during the spring semester each year. Nominations for the award are made by members of the University of Florida faculty and staff and up to five students may receive the award each year. The nominations are based on special contributions made by students in some area of campus life or the Gainesville community. The award represents “going an extra mile” or performance “above and beyond the call of duty.”

Qualifications:

  1. Nominees must be currently enrolled at the University of Florida as either a full-time or part-time student.
  2. Nominees must be in good standing with the University of Florida with a GPA of 2.0 or above.
  3. A student may receive the award more than once but not for the same achievement or project.
  4. The nominating person must submit the nomination form and letter of recommendation with supporting comments regarding the student’s contribution. Nominations must be received by the due date in order to be considered.
  5. The student must have demonstrated a special commitment or made a significant contribution to some area of campus life or the Gainesville community.
  6. The contribution made by the student should benefit fellow students and or the community.
  7. The award will recognize a rare display of dedication, initiative, outstanding service, and/or altruism.
  8. This award allows us the opportunity to honor those students who may not easily fall into traditional award categories.

Up to but no more than five students may be selected

Timeline:

Nominators will be asked to share their letters of nomination and help in presenting the award to the chosen recipient.
