Asian Student Union (ASU) is an umbrella organization that encompasses seven student organizations; including the Chinese American Student Association (CASA), Filipino Student Association (FSA), Korean Undergraduate Student Association (KUSA), Vietnamese Student Organization (VSO), Health Educated Asian Leaders (HEAL), Thai Student Association (TSA), and Khmer Student Organization (KSO). - BSU
Black Student Union (BSU) is an organization of black leaders here to serve African-Americans, the University of Florida and the area community. The mission of BSU is to provide a network for students to impact campus and community life. BSU will actively pursue the positive role of assisting individuals in achieving higher goals, as well as associations aspiring growth in membership and sponsorship. - Gator GSA http://www.gatorgsa.org/
The Gator Gay-Straight Alliance sprang into being in the fall of 2000. The Alliance’s purpose is to end homophobia (and indeed all forms of discrimination). The Alliance is ‘outward-directed’; that is, the efforts are not for the members but for the community in which we all live. Events fall into three main categories: Fundraising; Visibility, Publicity and Awareness; and Community Outreach and Involvement. - HSA
The Hispanic Student Association (HSA) was founded in 1985 in response to the growing Hispanic enrollment at UF. Since its foundation, membership has grown to over 800 members, making it the largest minority organization at UF. It actively advocates Hispanic participation in collegiate activities and programs, interaction with faculty and staff, and serves as the “voice” of the Hispanic students in an effort to raise Hispanic awareness at the University of Florida. - PSU http://grove.ufl.edu/~pride/
Pride Student Union (PSU) is a social, educational, and support organization for Gainesville’s student community and welcomes all lifestyles: lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgendered, straight, and questioning. The Union of Students with Disabilities advocates on behalf of all students registered with the Disability Resources and promotes campus wide awareness of the needs, abilities, expectations, and interests of students with disabilities. Volunteers for International Student Affairs (VISA) is an organization of American and International students who are involved in promoting the awareness of international diversity at the University of Florida. Over the years, VISA has served to organize the many international voices present here in an effort to familiarize the University of Florida with the global diversity that exists beyond the campus boundaries. VISA has 32 nationality clubs in its umbrella with more than 4000 members. The exceptional blend of different cultures gives VISA a unique outlook.
