Student Activities

The Office of Student Activities (www.union.ufl.edu/osa) is the hub of student organizations, involvement and programs at the University of Florida. OSA (located in the J. Wayne Reitz Union) can help you get involved in any of UF’s 700+ student organizations, volunteerism and leadership experiences, movies, comedy, music, lectures, academic competitions, debates, multi-cultural programs, outdoor adventure, mini-courses, or just plain old-fashioned fun! OSA also presents Gator Nights!(www.union.ufl.edu/gatornights) and coordinates the campus-wide calendar of activities, StuffToDo (www.union.ufl.edu/stufftodo).

The Student Activities Center is the heart of involvement at UF that houses a number of student organizations, including Student Government. The staff serves as a liaison to student organization leadership; manage a database of registered student organizations; develop lectures and multicultural programs; directly advise all large on-campus programs presented by student organizations including Homecoming and Gator Growl, Dance Marathon, Florida Invitational Step Show, Student Government Productions (SG concert presenters) and ACCENT (SG lecture bureau); coordinate leadership and organizational training; advise student organizations in presenting programs of all levels; and manage the new StuffToDo web calendar of hundreds of on-campus events.

Office of Student Activities facilities and sponsored student organizations present activities and services at the Reitz Union, including Gator Nights!, cultural performances, lectures, live concerts, films, special events, volunteer opportunities, College Bowl academic competitions and an outdoor adventure program, TRiP. OSA leads the way for student involvement and great things to do!

Travel and Recreation Program (TRiP) is a group of highly trained guides who design, organize, and leads adventure and leisure based trips to promote learning about the activity, others, and oneself. TRiP leaders complete a 2-credit class and an immersion experience. Annually TRiP offers 30-40 trips which are as short as half a day or as long as two weeks and are open to UF students and faculty. They travel extensively within Florida and the southeast, but also explore nationally and internationally in virtually every activity under the sun.

Arts & Crafts Center provides an open studio; teaches art classes in pottery, jewelry making, stained glass, tee shirt printing, printmaking, and papermaking; and maintains the Reitz Union permanent art collection. Leisure Courses provide the opportunity to acquire new skills and explore new horizons in a rich variety of non-credit classes such as computer, dance, arts and crafts, health and wellness, language and music. ,
