What is the Student Health Care Center?
The Student Health Care Center (SHCC) is an accredited outpatient clinic that provides primary medical care, mental health counseling, health education, disease prevention, wellness promotion, and various specialty services. The center is staffed by a large number of health care professionals, including physicians, physician assistants, health promotion specialists, registered nurses, advanced registered nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, counselors, and many other health specialists. All registered UF students are eligible for SHCC services. Office visits are covered under your health fee, but certain specialty services and procedures have fees for service. Be sure to ask!

What services are provided?

How does billing work? Do other charges apply?
The per-credit hour student health fee covers consultations with most SHCC staff. Charges are assessed for certain services. The mandatory student health fee does not include insurance coverage. University sponsored insurance is offered to students in need. Students still covered by their parents' policy should understand exactly which services are provided away from home. More insurance information can be found at http://shcc.ufl.edu/insurance.shtml or visit Aetna Student Health to enroll.
