Stern Architects (RAMSA) have come together as the comprehensive SchenkelShultz/ RAMSA team to design the renovations to Newell Hall.  These two firms are a proven team that has most recently worked with the University of Florida on the design of the Heavener Hall School of Business.  This partnership combines the expertise of SchenkelShultz, one of the top education design firms in the Southeast as ranked by ENR-Southeast magazine, with the nationally renowned Robert A.M. Stern Architects who bring specific expertise in the design of historically-appropriate buildings at a number of higher education campuses throughout the United States.

The design team for the Newell Hall Renovations also includes Moses & Associates (Mechanical / Electrical Engineer), Walter P Moore (Structural Engineer), Causseaux, Hewett, & Walpole, Inc. (Civil Engineer) and David Conner & Associates, Inc. (Landscape Architect).

CONSTRUCTION TEAM


The Construction Manager (CM) for the Newell Hall Renovations, Ajax Building Corporation, has completed more than a dozen major projects on the UF campus.  This experience includes Heavener and Hough Halls for the College of Business, as well as several renovation projects such as Weimer Hall, Ustler Hall and Weil Hall.  Both Ajax’s President and Vice President are graduates of the University of Florida, and appreciate the opportunity to work at their alma mater.  With offices in four states throughout the Southeast, Ajax has completed more than 150 higher education construction projects for 27 universities and colleges.  In fact, 65% of Ajax’s projects are completed in the education sector and include classroom buildings, laboratories, libraries, athletic facilities, parking structures, administration buildings, performing theaters and student activity centers.  As a third generation family owned company, Ajax has steadily grown to become one of the Southeast’s premier Construction Managers.  The latest updates on Ajax Building Corporation can be found online at https://twitter.com/ajaxbuilding.

Student Advisory Board


The Newell Hall Student Advisory Board serves as the student representatives tasked with advising the Dean of Students Office in the management of the building and in addition will serve as the student decision makers throughout the design and construction process of the Newell Hall project. The following students serve on the inaugural Newell Hall Student Advisory Board:
