UF Online Orientation

Congratulations on being admitted to the University of Florida!

We are excited for you to be a part of the Gator Nation and want to make sure that you have all the information necessary to begin your journey.  We have prepared a comprehensive online orientation, called Links, to help acquaint you with UF’s policies, procedures and programs

Within Links you will have the opportunity to learn about:

• UF’s online interfaces such as ISIS (student records/registration), Office365 (e-mail), and Canvas (e-learning)
• Academic expectations and support services
• Other University student resources and services available through UF Online
• And the next steps you need to complete post orientation, such as securing your Gator1 Card (university ID) and arranging your first semester academic advising appointment

You will receive an e-mail notifcation in mid-Fall when registration for your Links Orientation is available.

UFO-Links Orientation and UFO-Advising Holds

You will notice both a UFO-Links Orientation and UFO-Advising hold on your records.  These holds will prevent you from registering for your first semester classes.  To have you UFO-Links Orientation hold lifted, you must complete the steps outlined above, including earning an 80% or better on your Orientation Quiz and having your Gator 1 Card application approved.  Once you have had your Links Orientation hold lifted, you will have an advising appointment with your College, and they will lifted your UFO-Advising hold.  You cannot complete your advising appointment until you have had your Links hold lifted.

Technology Advice for Links

If you are using a PC, it is recommended that you use Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome over other internet browsers, such as Internet Explorer.  Mac users should use Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Safari rather than Internet Explorer.  Firefox and Google Chrome can be downloaded for free.

Closed Captioning for Links

There are several videos spread throughout the Links Orientation, and all are equipped with closed captioning. To turn on the closed captioning for a specific video, you will click the 'CC' button on the bottom left side of the screen, next to the time-bar.

If at any time during the completion of your Links modules or at other points during the pre-enrollment process if you have questions please feel free to contact New Student & Family Programs at newstudentinfo@dso.ufl.edu or by phone at 352-392-8396.
